Call of Duty Double XP Across The Whole Franchise Next Week

Robert Bowling, Creative Strategist at Infinity Ward has confirmed that for the first time in Call of Duty history - a double XP event is being rolled out across the whole franchise for games which have Prestige Mode.

The idea behind this is to earn Prestige Points before the release of Modern Warfare 3 on November 8th 2011 where you can use your points to buy Prestige Only items from a Prestige Shop. This can be custom emblems, weapons, buy more double XP time and a whole lot of other things...

The Mega Double XP event will commence on the weekend of October 27th 2011

I guarantee EA Dice will employ the same tactic when MW3 comes out.

this is a really good idea for them because they get more consumers every year and if you get points for presiges on o,ld cods people will go out and but the old cods for more prestige points

They are only doing this to draw people away from battlefield 3 which comes out just before. its a good strategy and im sure it will decrease the amount of players on battlefield 3 over the weekend.

If i were JD_2020 i wouldn't do a double XP lobby because of MW3, no sense at all. Unless Activi$ion forced them to....


JD2020 does not even work for Treyarch anymore. Even if he did it wouldn't be his decision

It's for if you have ever prestiged on ANY Call of Duty. You get One Prestige Point, even if you are max prestige on ALL CoDs.
