Call of Duty Double XP Across The Whole Franchise Next Week

Robert Bowling, Creative Strategist at Infinity Ward has confirmed that for the first time in Call of Duty history - a double XP event is being rolled out across the whole franchise for games which have Prestige Mode.

The idea behind this is to earn Prestige Points before the release of Modern Warfare 3 on November 8th 2011 where you can use your points to buy Prestige Only items from a Prestige Shop. This can be custom emblems, weapons, buy more double XP time and a whole lot of other things...

The Mega Double XP event will commence on the weekend of October 27th 2011

Who would give up up MW3 for BF3 though?

Wow sounds pretty awesome, the only bad thing is that I had to start all over on a xbox account. My old account I was 10th in all CoDs, my new account I only have some CoD 10th.

And Time to go move from black ops 14th 48. Hopefully that won't take long I hate that game. MW3 seems to be awesome, but how many prestige tokens do you need for everything? I'll have 25 if you get one per prestige in MW2 and blops. Thats nuke quality.

I'm not a big fan of these points to unlock everything. Why couldn't they just let you reach a rank and unlock stuff like it used to be.
