Xbox Series X Aiming For Higher Performance Than The PlayStation 5

4.4
According to IGN Japan's Editor in Chief, Xbox Series X aims to be more powerful console than the competition while PS5 wants to be cheaper due to difference in specifications.
Both Sony and Microsoft are yet to fully reveal their next-generation consoles - PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, respectively. Many expected PlayStation 5 reveal event this month but that is becoming increasingly unlikely now, while Microsoft probably plan to do a big reveal at E3 2020.

As we wait for these events, many rumours, leaks and reports have been surfacing with new details about the new consoles. The latest report comes from IGN Japan's Editor in Chief who said that once again, Microsoft aim to have a more powerful console than Sony. "There is no doubt that the Xbox Series X is aiming for overwhelmingly higher performance than the PS5," IGN Japan's Editor in Chief said.

Also, Sony's plan with PlayStation 5 is to be cheaper than Xbox Series X "because of the difference in specifications".

Now, keep in mind that these quotes are coming from a , who posted a couple of screenshots of the translated quote. Of course, take it with a grain of salt just like any other rumour, leak or unconfirmed info.

That being said, it would not be surprising if Microsoft aim to bring a much more powerful console than Sony. Xbox One X is at the moment the most powerful console in the world with support for native 4K, which is something that PlayStation 4 Pro is usually not capable of delivering.

We also know that both consoles will feature SSDs for super-fast loading times and graphics chips with ray tracing support. Just how big the difference between the specifications will actually be, it remains to be seen.

Seems to me that's pretty natural, Microsoft and Sony are rivals, its healthy competition so obviously they'd try and create the better console

Tbh I don't think with how high spec'd for a console both of them will be it will really matter which one is better
