Different Materia will be in the upcoming Final Fantasy VII Remake but the properties remain the same.

In an interview with Famitsu, Final Fantasy VII Remake director Tetsuya Nomura spoke more about



While that will potentially upset some fans, Nomura has assured there will also be new Materia as well. It was also reconfirmed that Materia will show off on the characters when they are equipped to them. This was shown off during the game’s presentation with Cloud having a green Materia orb equipped to his Buster Sword.

From what we saw of the game at E3 a few weeks ago the game seems to be promising with a vast world to explore as well as a new combat system that still feels like Final Fantasy VII. You can pre-order the Deluxe or Standard edition of Final Fantasy VII Remake on Amazon. The game is set to release on March 3, 2020.
