Battlefield 3 Not Competing With Call of Duty?

4.5
n a recent interview, Battlefield 3′s executive producer Patrick Bach insists that the Battlefield series is out to carve it’s own niche in the FPS genre, not to knock Call of Duty off its throne as FPS king.

“Honestly, we’re not trying to go after CoD,” Bach says. “Of course there will be crossover – it’s a first-person shooter, it’s modern-day, and there are resemblances on locations, even – we’re all inspired by the same media and the world around us.”

“But to be a star you need to play your own songs.”

“We have so many things in our game that aren’t a part of Modern Warfare, so it really comes down to personal preference. You choose based on the depth you want, the maturity level, your own personal taste… it’s all about how you get your fix.”

Focusing on creating their own top tier FPS and not worrying about staging a coup with Call of Duty can only result in good things for shooter fans. Yes, there will always be comparisons between the two franchises and competition will be there whether the Battlefield 3 team wants it or not, but choosing to ignore the competition and instead focusing on making the best game possible is an instant win for us.

Battlefield 3 is currently scheduled for an October 25th release date.

Couldnt agree more, I play games like flashpoint Arma and Rainbow 6 for the realism and depth behind the games.

I bet most of you didn't even notice that the first word in this article is suppose to be "in" but it's just an "n"

Here is what I think They Are both going to be good games but at the end BF3 is going to be the better game.

BF3 is more realism and the graphics are way better than MW3 and also there are hardly any little kids.

MW3 or CoD in general aim for kids attention by putting in stuff like Nukes, Sentry guns, Death Machines. and stuff like that just so little kids are like "OMFG THIS GAME IS AWESOME!!!"

battlefield is a better shooter but cod has more features.

Im glad battlefield runs 30 fps. because most games that run 60 frames on console (which isnt a lot.) look very weird and unnatural. Cod is one of the only games that can pull it off well.

Celtics until battlefield is 60fps i will stick to cod

The human eye cannot readily notice differences between FPS or 25. Essentially, you won't be able to tell the difference. And I wont be getting CoD until it gets Destructible Environments, vehicles, and a balenced multiplayer system.

Really? You honestly believe that?

If you seriously can't notice the difference between 30 and 60 you may want to get your eyes checked. There's a noticeable difference.
that's a WIN

I totally agree
. Lol no it is only 30Fps for you console people, It can run at 100Fps on a decent gaming PC if you want it too, Nuff' said.

Well I must admit that both games have their great advantages. Cod has their great reputation of campaigns and multiplayer modes and pretty much everything in it. Battle field for me was originally played on by pc but has come very far. It has great graphics and maps but i personally do not like the modes for the multiplayer. I think CoD is a better choice and think they will be doing better.
