Modern Warfare 3 Fires Back at the Competition

4
As the release dates for both Battlefield 3 and Modern Warfare come closer, the mud-slinging is becoming dirtier with each passing day. This time it’s the co-developer of Modern Warfare 3 kicking wet dust DICE’s way, with the studio’s co-founder and general manager Glen Schofield saying, “I’d be a little scared at this point – in June – if I was looking forward to a particular game that wasn’t on the console and running at 60.”
That’s what he said while speaking in a recent interview with AusGamers. When asked about Battlefield 3′s brand new Frostbite 2 engine he said, “You can go out and name your engine and call it whatever you want, right. You know, I’ve done that before, I’ve seen that trick and the bottom line is, this game will run at 60 frames a second. Not sure any of our competitors will.”
“Not sure I’ve seen any of our competitors on the console, especially running at 60 frames a second, and I’d be a little scared at this point – in June – if I was looking forward to a particular game that wasn’t on the console and running at 60.
I think 60 is our competitive edge and you just don’t throw that away. You don’t ship an engine, you ship a game.”
Modern Warfare 3 will be released on November 8th worldwide for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. Battlefield 3 will release on October 8th for the same platforms.

LeoIsAJoke Dice is acting cocky with their frostbite 2.0 engine

that should tell you something. traditionally theyre a company that quietly releases amazing games with little advertisement. Now theyre bragging massively. that should tell you something.
they're proud and bragging because it's the best thing they've ever made. they've earned the right to be cocky imo

ZBrush higher FPS doesnt add to a competitive edge, My monitor runs at 75FPS and some games on pc max there FPS at over 120FPS.

But guess what, I could run the same benchmark at 30 and 60 FPS and the difference isnt notable.

You know why?

Its because human eyesight only cant fault an animation that runs anything below 25 FPS, Anything above this and the FPS are smooth if your monitor can display the framerate.

Retarded Devs talking about how good there games are because of FPS differences are Retarded.

Now youve learnt your lesson about how the human eye works and FPS differences, please dont ever compair them again unless the game is running at anything below 25FPS

Well Said.

but if you want to record and turn it to slow-mo it is much with 60 fps

Yes it is easyer with 60FPS but only because it can be translatable down to 30fps meaning the framerate has been stretched.

even so, A game running at 30 FPS can have slow motion of 5 FPS indifference.

But this has nothing to do with how a game out performs another graphically. Simple.
ZBrush you sir are a genius! lol you said what me and my friends were just talking about!

thats the only thing MW3 has over its competitors, not graphics, not numbers of players in MP, not destructible environment, not massive maps(SP and MP). I played BC2 (30) and MW2(60) on console and it's hard to really tell the difference in "smooth[ness]" in gameplay.

plus it's not DICE's fault that it has to be 30fps on consoles. the xbox and ps3 are outdated and would probably explode if they had to run the game at 60fps. Most COMPUTERS cant even handle it for goodness sakes! lol

Thank god for this war, it's going to make both games 100x better than if they were brought out without the other :)

The-Roach As of 9 hours ago gamestop confirmed BF3 is currently outselling MW3.

The Gamestop where I live said that over 500 MW3 games have been reserved there to BF3s 200. This also in a town that only has roughly 4,000 people in it.
