Final Fantasy XIII Titles Will Be Xbox One Backwards Compatible

4.2
At X018, it was announced that Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy XIII-2, and Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII will all be backwards compatible for Xbox One on November 13, 2018. All will also feature Xbox One X enhancements as well.

Originally released in 2010 in North America, Final Fantasy XIII for Xbox 360. Starring the pink-haired protagonist Lightning, one of the game’s many deviations included a combat system known as a paradigm and Paradigm Shifts. This allowed the player to change strategies mid-combat.

The entire Final Fantasy XIII series is a controversial one. The first of the trilogy had been criticized for being too linear as opposed to previous entries. Final Fantasy XIII-2 received generally good reviews while Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII received okay to unfavorable reviews. During the Nintendo Direct in September, it was announced Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy IX, Final Fantasy X, Final Fantasy X-2, and Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age would be coming to the Switch. Shortly after the Direct, it was announced these titles would be coming to Xbox One as well. That means you’ll be able to play a whole lot of Final Fantasy on Microsoft’s console. These will be coming sometime in 2019.
