Destiny 2 Introduces New Crucible Mode Breakthrough Next Tuesday

4
Bungie has revealed that the new Crucible game mode in Destiny 2 named Breakthrough will go live to all players of the game on Tuesday, September 25, 2018.

This PvP mode will be a the Weekly Featured Playlist for the first week and become part of the Competitive playlist on October 2, 2018. Those who own Destiny 2: Forsaken will be able to play Breakthrough in private matches beginning September 25. News maps will be introduced specifically crafted for Breakthrough, including: Equinox, Firebase Echo, The Citadel, and Convergence. PlayStation 4 players have exclusive access to the Gambler’s Ruin map as well.

You can read Bungie’s description of the new mode below, as well as check out some images of the new maps in the image gallery.

At the beginning of each round, players will fight to capture a central zone. Once the zone is captured, your team will deploy the Breaker. As players work to deploy the Breaker, the zone can be contested, resulting in an epic tug-of-war between the two teams. Once the Breaker is captured, it will be used to assault and hack the enemy team’s Vault.
If you hack the enemy team’s Vault, you win the round. If you fail to hack the enemy team’s Vault within the round time limit, you lose. If you are in the process of hacking the enemy team’s Vault when time runs out, you will enter Sudden Death until you either hack the Vault, or the enemy removes all your progress.
First team to win three rounds takes the match.

I like the idea of this, the Destiny crucible got boring with just the TDM and Domination styled modes but this one brings some flavour into the game that I think it needs, enough to get me to play again.. well probably not but it still sounds like a good idea.
