Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 PC may use Battle.net

If you don’t have a Battle.net account already, Call of Duty players, you may want to create one.

An update to the Call of Duty website now features the option to link your game to Blizzard’s Battle.net.

The option to link to the service was spotted by CharlieIntel. If you hit up the Call of Duty website, you can see for yourself.

We took a screengrab for your convenience.

This seems to indicate the possibility that Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, which was announced today, may not be made available on PC through Steam.

When Destiny 2 was announced for PC in May 2017, Bungie revealed the game would skip Steam and instead use Battle.net.

Considering Activision already has its own server system with Battle.net, skipping Steam would be convenient for the company, plus it wouldn’t have to share a percentage of the sales profit.

Using Battle.net also provides users with online social functionality, chat, and more thanks to a large update released in October.

As of press time, Activision hasn’t made an announcement regarding Call of Duty and Battle.net so keep calm until official word comes down from on high.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will be released on October 12 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

A reveal is set for May 17.

battlenet is good for anti-piracy. Just look at StarCraft 2 for examples of how long that took.

Im sure theyre using it for that exact reason.
