Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 PC may use Battle.net

4.2
If you don’t have a Battle.net account already, Call of Duty players, you may want to create one.

An update to the Call of Duty website now features the option to link your game to Blizzard’s Battle.net.

The option to link to the service was spotted by CharlieIntel. If you hit up the Call of Duty website, you can see for yourself.

We took a screengrab for your convenience.

This seems to indicate the possibility that Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, which was announced today, may not be made available on PC through Steam.

When Destiny 2 was announced for PC in May 2017, Bungie revealed the game would skip Steam and instead use Battle.net.

Considering Activision already has its own server system with Battle.net, skipping Steam would be convenient for the company, plus it wouldn’t have to share a percentage of the sales profit.

Using Battle.net also provides users with online social functionality, chat, and more thanks to a large update released in October.

As of press time, Activision hasn’t made an announcement regarding Call of Duty and Battle.net so keep calm until official word comes down from on high.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will be released on October 12 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

A reveal is set for May 17.

I don't get the issues with this, seen YouTubers mentioning it a few times. I personally think it won't affect the game though. As long as it's bothing like WW2

Mikey Nothing wrong with Battle.net, i think its a cool idea.

Agreed, Blizzard is a great software to use like destiny and diablo 3. And like Swfit said, anti-cheat is pretty tough.

They may lose some sales, but the anti-cheat under the blizzard app is second to none.

Im all for this move.

Interesting move on Activisions behalf, but I cannot see it working very well for them. I could be wrong, but only time will tell I guess.

Bold move still.

This is a great idea. Considering call of duty isn't that big on stream, having it open in more locations such as battle.net gives more audience a chance to try it possibly, most cods don't do well on PC sure they have players but never a lot.

Battle.net is a great start engine and is why Destiny went to it. Will cause a loss on steam but for sure a great idea on Activisions end.

There's nothing wrong with it being on Battle.net lmfao

I posted this earlier and I say go for it.

Alot of games were successful on Battle.net including Overwatch.

Not a bad idea, look how well Overwatch does on Battle.net, I wouldn't mind seeing this!
