Sony will be carrying out routine scheduled maintenance on the PlayStation Network later this week, the company has announced.

The maintenance will run from 3 a.m. on August 15th until to 3: 30 a.m. on August 15th (Your Local Time Zone).

During maintenance, PlayStation owners who already have a PSN account will still be able to sign in, play games, and use most applications. However, PlayStation Video, the PlayStation Store, and Account Management will be unavailable for the duration.

Sony recommends that users activate their PS4 as the primary console before maintenance begins so they can continue to play most games and use third-party services during maintenance.

“We strive to ensure that PlayStation Network services are available at all times, but occasionally we must take PlayStation Network offline to perform essential maintenance and implement feature enhancements,” Sony explains. “We are working hard to reduce the duration of each maintenance.”

In other PlayStation news, the closed beta for PlayStation 4’s 5.0 update is scheduled to begin soon. Sony is yet to announce what will be included in the major update, but a leak shed some light on it last week.
