The next Assassin’s Creed is officially nearing completion: Ubisoft has announced that it will release within the current fiscal year.
This fiscal year ends on March 31st, 2018, so we’ll have—at most—ten months to wait for the new game. It’s possible, if not likely, that we’ll see it even earlier, should Ubisoft choose to aim for a fall or holiday release.

We’ve seen plenty of leaks popping up about the new game, which rumor says will be called Assassin’s Creed Origins, so the game is clearly moving along in development. According to one of the biggest the rumors so far, the game will feature two main characters, include naval combat, and take place in Egypt (though a wide-open world that lets players travel as far as Greece).
With the rate these leaks are appearing, it’s likely that we’ll get see the game at this year’s E3.
