Treyarch Set To Make Special Call Of Duty Announcement This Thursday

4.7
While the spotlight is currently on Sledgehammer Games and its forthcoming work on Call of Duty: WWII (as it should be), the development team at Treyarch (the folks behind 2015’s Call of Duty: Black Ops III) is preparing some news of its own.

Per YouTuber JCbackfire’s recent Twitter post, Jason Blundell, who serves as the director for Zombies, as well as senior executive producer for Treyarch, will have a “special announcement” this Thursday at 10 AM PDT, which will likely be on the official Twitch Call of Duty channel.

If you’ve been reading up on the news we’ve posted over the past few weeks, then this news is likely not to be a big surprise. Recent retail listings have indicated that Call of Duty: Black Ops III is set to get new Zombies maps, in the forms of a new pack called Zombies Chronicles. The pack has already gotten an ESRB rating, and various retailers have listed that it’s set for release sometime in June for a yet undisclosed price.

It’s probably one of the worst kept secrets in the Call of Duty line-up, but no doubt fans that were pleased with the Zombies content in Black Ops III – including the Shadows of Evil mode and its side additions – will be happy to head back in and see what Treyarch is offering this time around. There’s no word yet on where the Zombies maps will take place, or which characters will be involved with Chronicles, but we’ll know more in just a couple days’ time.

It seems Call of Duty is firing on all cylinders as of late, with the Call of Duty: World League going on, as well as Infinity Ward still pumping out downloadable content for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare; Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered possibly getting its own separate release; and, of course, the unmatchable hype building behind Call of Duty: WWII as it ramps up towards its E3 reveal in a couple of months. It seems Activision can do no wrong with the franchise right now, and Zombies Chronicles should have no trouble adding to that momentum.

Zombies has never interested me. Good to see they're still keeping their game alive.

I wonder if they'll make a few maps remastered for BO3 engine like what they did back in BO1 with DLC4. Or maybe they'll release WaW, BO1 & BO2 maps in a single epic pack.

It seems unlikely but I want this so bad lol.
