Infinite Warfare: Crate Exploit, Game Taken Temporarily Offline

4.6
Infinity Ward’s ’12 Days of Winter’ in game promotion for Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare got entirely derailed yesterday, thanks to some players discovering a bug that let them exploit day two’s reward to gather thousands of keys, and trade them in for hundreds of loot boxes- completely wrecking any semblance of in game balance or economy.

The exploit centered around a small reward that gave the players 20 keys – keys are a form of currency in Infinite Warfare – with players discovering a way to get the same drop an infinite number of times. As a result of all of this chaos, Infinity Ward had to temporarily take down the servers of the game yesterday, reports Power Up Gaming.

Infinity Ward have confirmed on Twitter that they will be revoking access to all loot crates earned as a result of the exploit, stressing that they don’t want to mistakenly punish anyone who didn’t abuse the exploit. Presumably by this time, however, the issue should be fixed. Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is available now on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.

Tele They shouldn't be trying to make money.

I know you're an active member as I've seen you here posting every day. I've got to question the logic of this comment though unless it was posted in haste. The concept of a game IS to make money .....or you'd never see another game of that category again if it was unprofitable.

Hopefully all the players who did it get banned. Kind of stupid how they did test this out or anything though

It's actually not pay to win, sure the guns from crates are good, but you can either earn them (fairly easily with some time put in, unless you're not good at shooters) or use the reg guns and whoop ass. You also get guns from missions only.

It's more of a pay-to-get-crappy-camoes-and-weapons-hoping-to-get-something-good-only-to-find-out-that-you're-still-not-good-at-the-game-and-you-just-fell-for-an-overused-marketing-scheme.

I actually do like Infinite Warfare a lot, and I'm all for the supply drops (camoes and reticles are cool, and weapons provide something to work towards). However, we all know the company just wants money :). And even if the additions are cool, it won't stop people from complaining about it.

Want to see real pay to win? Hit up an MMO game lol.

DJ Shitty game as it is. Glad they are having problems. They are greedy and don't listen to what the cod players want.

Agreed. I don't think any other COD game with micro-transactions had any issues like this before haha
