Modern Warfare Remastered Receives Supply Drops and Microtransactions

4.5
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered’s December update is now rolling out worldwide, bringing six new maps, numerous cosmetic items and female soldiers to Raven Software’s first-person shooter.

However, the update is also introducing a surprising – and in many quarters, unwelcome – addition, in the form of supply drops and microtransactions via Call of Duty Points. It’s worth noting that supply drops contain only cosmetic items at present, and can also be earned with in-game depot credits as well as purchased with real money via COD Points.

Users will also be able to craft many of the items provided in supply drops with Parts, which can be acquired by playing the game’s various modes.

The changes are coming via title update 1.06, which weighs in at 27GB for Xbox One users and approximately 8GB for PC and PS4 players.

Daniel I do not like this at all, I guess this is where I will stop playing MWR they have completely wrecked the game in my opinion.

Why can't they just keep it the way it is why do they have to add new things and **** everything up.

I wasn't happy about the 2 game modes they added but I was just going to get on with it and play them but now this has wrote the game off for me.

Didn't actually ruin the game one bit tbh.
If you don't want the customisations that the supply drops offer, then don't buy them. Simple.

At least it's not like AW where there were stronger gun variants in drops that majority of players couldn't get.

Not going to lie these are the best supply drops out of the other games that had them. No pay to win and they worked really hard to make this feel still like cod 4. Just better

Skates Its cosmetics at first then they get way over their heads because nobodies buying IW supply drops so they start adding more crap in MWR drops tempting the players who spend money on drops to buy them. Then all the Activison YouTuber dck riders start doing ridiculous MWR supply drop openings promoting drops to their entire 12 year old fanbase.

Yes I'm mad.

Yeah I'm not to happy myself. I didn't get the game yet, waiting til its purchasable separately as I do not want IW. But at this rate I may never even buy it once it is.

They never do what the fans want and always try to find way to make money, the price it costs to play this half complete game is one thing but to make people pay more for micro-transactions is another. Really disappointing to see call of duty go down hill although it has been since Ghosts in my opinion.

They are making the wrong choice by introducing micro transactions.

Are we just going to ignore that massive file size difference? Why tf is it a 20 gig difference between consoles?

I think the supply drops are fine but i hate when people can buy themselves better things in the game, it makes it P2W.

They are going in the wrong direction for the player's sake but the right way in a business decision. Because sooner or later, there are going to be "limited" boxes which entices better skins, and pretty soon you going to have a console remake of cs;go, Do i think its smart for them to do this? Simple, YES, you think everyone's petty complaints about micro transactions and "make cod great again" are going to make them quit? No of course not. the community is going to complain one day, and boot up the game the next. As long that their isn't any game-breaking guns in micro transactions. If IW did as good as their other major titles did, they would of just made the skins buyable for a couple of dollars like in Cod bo2. it just means better games in the future.

Nick I got some, and it's actually pretty cool. You can unlock camo sets that unlock really cool camos. And the character customization options are really cool too!

That sounds pretty cool I might get on and buy some just to see what I get
