Blu-ray BD-R and BD-RE discs now work on both Xbox One and Xbox One S

4.7
Both Xbox One and Xbox One S users can now run recorded Blu-ray media discs on their systems, thanks to a new update.

Microsoft’s Mike Ybarra, who is director of program management for Xbox confirmed the news this week

This means that thanks to the update, current-gen Xbox users can now play their recordable (BR-D) and recordable erasable Blu-ray discs (BD-RE).

The update should be live in your regions now, so fire up your Xbox One S or standard Xbox One.

I don't really use Blu-ray, but this is a nice feature.

wow, to have this feature implemented by an update is awesome. I wonder what other things they are able to do with a single update

I won't use this too much, but I'm sure it will come in handy. I didn't know this wasn't already a thing.

I wouldn't use this feature but hardcore Blu Ray people would.

That's a nice little feature to play round with. Not bad at all.

Nice thing to add to the xbox cant wait until next year

I rarely own any disks these days. Cool though.

It wont affect most people but still nice to see implemented in. Adds to the benifits of an xbox one (s)

I don't buy disk version of anything (unless its cheaper) but I will not find any use for this... I guess families that use it to watch TV will be happy about this though

Pretty neat addition. I'll be using this feature.
