can you tell me if the cpu connection on the motherboard has an 8 pin and a 4 pin.. i have used the two 4 pin conectors in the 8 pin ..but dont have another 4 pin..whats best way ..can i use a 6+2 in the 8 pin and the split the 2 4s and use one 4 pin in the other connector???
because molex connections are trash, and it's not 2004. Stop trying to use PCIe connectors and molex unless you want to fry something.
You said yourself your PSU has a 4+4-pin connector for the CPU, so use it. Leave the additional 4-pin CPU connector empty, it's not necessary whatsoever. Do not use a molex adapter or a PCIe connector to power your CPU.
The power loss will be there, possibility of shorting from molex. The connection might look the same but it is not. Just use the 2x4 and tuck the other one away or whatever. It's not worth frying anything over a bad connection.
