It would be safe to say it would be cheaper, but I don't think anyone should assume it'll be a $100 or more savings. Optical drives/blu-ray drives aren't nearly as expensive as they used to be, so the savings will probably be in the double digits.

It won't be that much cheaper and if you go with that you won't be able to use your PS4 discs it's a huge trade off

I personally haven't used discs since early PS4, I still think there are people who use discs but I would say the vast majority of people are digital now.

Damn I would have thought Xbox would have said something.

It's hard for them to give a concrete date because this was a sudden cancellation. These companies usually get their booths scheduled right after the end of E3 and then everything during the next year leading up to the next E3, they start building their show floor presentation based on what they know. Once COVID hit and cancelled E3, everyone had to scramble to find a fix within less than 3 months time. Pair that with people now having to work from home, this was just naturally going to be a challenge. Nintendo was the only one I expected to be fully prepared since they pre-record all their shows and then air it over E3, they've been doing that for years.

yea I hadn't seen the dimensions till that size comparison it's like oddly small, I wonder if they do a discless version if it'll be even smaller.

I suppose since it's bulkier it doesn't need to be as tall, the design was clearly done as a choice for both consoles so I wonder how they will both stand with sound/cooling.

I don't recall seeing the back of the PS5 or if the top has any vents, but the Xbox looks to have a good design in terms of cooling as the vents seem to be on top, where heat rises to escape at. If there's even a single fan at the bottom blowing upwards -- even if it's like a 20-50mm fan, prime cooling for the Xbox.

Yea the PS5 Looks huge af but hey we can get used to it its just less portable more fragile. and also they might need to have it be that big with the internal components of the actually machine. maybe they can make them a little smaller and make a slim version in next 5/6 years but overheating issues may arise.

Although I wont be getting either console, I would go with the PS5 mainly because a lot of my IRL friends have PS.

Usually people make a switch each generation. its good to know ur not getting one but who knows u might end up getting the xbox in a few years becuase they all switched

Always played on the PS, so getting the PS5 is a must (especially for exclusives)

I did have Xbox original and X360, but was very rarely on them

The 360 Will never be matched becuase it was so new and so good all at the same time. but with ps exlusives u need the console most u can just play on the pc now with xbox exclusives.

Assassin's creed one would be so dope if it actually used LEDs like that. But that Spiderman one is just looking amazing. Hopefully Sony isn't afraid to experiment with a bunch of designs for their consoles, even if only a select number of runs.

Or even give us the option to customize our own console similar to how you can with the Xbox One controllers.
