TastyCereal wrote Basically just giving consoles more features that PC already have

The biggest drawback is mod support, which is always going to put PC with more features. Sony and Microsoft don't allow custom modding to be implemented into their games under normal means. I'll use Minecraft for example. When that launched on the 360 and PS3, there were no skin packs or texture packs, people could mod them in, but they were unable to go live with them. Instead Sony and Microsoft started adding their own in to buy, when PC users were able to make anything they wanted by simply have a photo editing software like Photoshop, GIMP or even MS Paint.

Consoles are also playing the catch up game in terms of specs and features. While the PS5 is looking great, especially with it's new SSD feature that utilises it's internal components, it's still going to end up being out done by the next architect in chipsets with PCs which will easily be within a year. PCs also get a lot more "experimental" features that consoles don't get to have, like my computer case, I can charge my phone or wireless earbuds by simply dropping them ontop of my computer case because it has a built in Qi Charger. It's niche, it's experimental but it's just many examples of where PCs get more features than consoles. Again, once Sony and Microsoft let people be able to mod games that do no harm to anyone, they're going to seriously be behind in features seen over at PC gaming.

Completely agree. Will be interesting to see if and how it is completely integrated between platforms, i.e. joining a Xbox party via PlayStation. Or if they just keep it within games.

I don't think we'll see anything like an Xbox gamer being able to join someone in a call/party on PlayStation, just because those chat rooms are handled through different servers and a whole bunch of other steps in-between the two, instead, I wouldn't doubt if something like Discord/Skype gets fully implemented where you could have a group call with friends or a server. If they're able to get latched onto one of those servers, then I don't think there would be any issue in terms of quality as long as your internet is stable as it would just be say Discord/Skype running in the background of your console whilst talking with whomever.

I would love to dust off some of my PS2 games or PS3 and play on the 5

Sorry Sony, you just don't have what it takes

Usually me and TTG prefer Xbox as well. But as of right now we have the Xbox One Scorpio and a PS4. So it's like might have to get both...

From the rumors going around it would only be PS4 games that would be backwards compatible.

One of the only things I am hopeful for is the crossplay (not sure if confirmed or not)option to stick around, being able to play with friends who are still on console is awesome.

Why the PS5 over the xbox one? Just off of specs the xbox is beating the PS5. Not saying it's by a long shot or anything but just off of the specs, xbox is in the lead.

My choice isn't based off of the specs for each console, just the fact that all my friends play on PS.

That makes since for sure. I have friends who play on both PS and Xbox.

Personally, I just like Sony's, UI more than Xbox. I find it easier to navigate, and use. But this probably being because when I played on console it was always PS. I can't see the specs being any crazy differences either. I see it coming down to whether you're a PS gamer or Xbox gamer.

one thing i will say is xbox has always gotten the community and gaming with other experience down pretty well thats the one thing i always liked about xbox

Agreed, the community is always going strong.

Halo is becoming cross play with PC and future Xbox studio titles will release on the PC, there will probably be a lot less Xbox players because of this but the player bases will remain the same or get bigger.

Xbox is doing a great thing by doing this, but I think it will impact their future sales by a small dent.
theyre definitely focusing on expanding more to pc which in the long run will help them a ton! You see a lot of companies doing surprised Sony hasn't tried anything yet tbh.

I'm glad they are adding cross play, might even be able to party up with Maze as he is on Xbox

Crossplay is definitely the way forward, considering Call of Duty: Black Ops 2020 is using Warzone as a part of it, it's very likely that game will also be cross platform just like Modern Warfare, studios are listening, good things are happening.

Same with Apex Legends, crossplay is in the works.

Need for Speed Heat is getting/got it added between PC, Xbox and PS in their newest update.

Yup their doing more and more cross play little by little.
