So the badge is only temporary? surely you should get some sort of permanant credit (badge) to show you have been achiever beforehand in recognition of it.

Only if the total is surpassed. I would assume that means, for example; I gift 66 people in 1 month. I will keep the badge the next month if the highest number gifted by 1 person is only 55. They will have to beat my number of 66 to take the badge from me.

That's how I'm thinking it works by the way it's exampled.
