I have to say that DSTwitter was becoming slower and slower when downloading things from the Internet, to the point that it was insufferable to download a 40 tweets timeline using 1.4.

That’s the reason of this release, just focused on lowering the download times. There are much less memory operations, and another were bastly simplified, some adjustements here and there…

I hope that the app, apart from faster, will be more stable right now since I’ve double checked the downloading process and I’ve also modified some parts that could been causing some hangs. I hope not to have inserted more bugs with these changes

On this bars graph you can view the comparison, measured on seconds, of approximate download times getting 40, 30 and 20 tweets with their respective icons; and also getting 40, 30, 20 and 10 tweers with the prefetched icons. I haven’t recorded values with 40 tweets for 1.4 since the operation never ended successfully.

Thanks to algeek for his comments on speed problems, which I’ve not considered enough until he told me.
