Nagisa wrote I have a scanner it throws up P1518 and I can keep the engine on by revving it but the exhaust just smells entirely like gas(if you own a quad that's the kind of smell it lets out) I'm leaning more towards the ICM or TAC

Usually the reason why you are smelling gas is because the computer is in limp mode because either a sensor is out or a relay is Bad.
That code is a Throttle Actuator Control Module Performance. More about it here. [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

From looking it up online it looks like the tac module is bad.
I haven't had to replace one but from what people are saying is that to replace the tac module you have to replace the whole throttle body.
I seen where one guy replaced the ignition relay and that fixed the problem.
So I say start with the cheapest part which is the ignition relay and hopefully that fixes it.

Ive had problems with my car that included the crankshaft sensor going out.

Had to pay about $300 to have it replaced since it was not even near the top of the engine bay.

Make sure you take that code to autozone, they should be able to tell you, if not, just look up at what the code means. Might just be a stupid sensor thats causing the whole engine to not start or shutting off.

The problem the crankshaft sensor was giving me was that one morning when i was going to college for finals, it would crank but not start, so i just left it like that, two days after that i flew out of the country for two weeks. When i came back, i started the car and everything worked jst fine until the day after, it wasnt starting. Might just be a crankshaft sensor.

Goodluck

Dayum. Any significant reasons why or was it from age? Also we're the cylinder walls damaged? Are all of the piston rings blown or just one?

Changed it 6 months ago but it's had leak since I got it, I know where it's coming from but forgot what it was called anyways, I don't have the proper tools to lift my engine out or drop my transmission system so I've just been dealing with,

Usually pistons rings blow out when the engine is working too hard from lack of oil. I had a piston ring blow and it snapped the piston rod and put it through the crankcase because I had a oil leak from the pan in my 01 Cavalier. I had kept up to date with the oil but a little leak turned real bad real fast. Just something you gotta keep an eye on!

Any plans on buying a new motor?
