Depends on the service, if I get poor service, I leave a poor tip, if I get good service, I will leave a good tip. I always leave something regardless of service.

No, thankfully my country has minimum wage laws which require even the "lowest of the low" type jobs to be paid a good wage in order for the employee to not need tips to survive. The National minimum wage act of 1998 means that anyone who fits the given criteria gets at least a set wage. This even fits part-time, trainee's, offshore, one-day hires, apprentices and foreign workers. The minimum wage at the moment is shown below:

I think tipping is an extremely crude way of shorting your workers especially if a company then splits the tips at the end of the shift. I will only tip if its a pathetic amount meaning I will be left with coppers (small change) or if they have performed a miracle in front of my eyes.

Damn u lucky bro. Your countries' minimum wage gets reviewed every April. Minimum wage in the USA has been $7.25 since 2009 and $7.25 here is equivalent to the apprentice wages in the U.K. Since the cost of living is insane now. ($7 for a gallon of milk) I live in a cheap part of the country and housing is $1000 a month on average for a 1 bedroom apartment. rip.

I agree. Minimum wage in the US blows. Plus, the living expenses for being in a college town in ridiculous but what can ya do. Gotta live somewhere besides the dorms
Minimum skills, minimum wage.

That's how I think of it.

And here I was thinking Reservoir Dogs was a popular movie.

I usually just leave them whatever small bills I have in my pocket.

However, I always tip pizza delivery drivers $10 when they deliver to me. Gas is expensive, and I'm sure a lot of people don't tip them. I've had a few get rather excited over that $10.

I have friends working in restaurants part time to get by who got straight A's. Nothing to do with that.

Not everyone else has the same opportunities you do

Not sure where you live that wages are $7.25 a hour but it must be bum **** nowhere. Especially for milk to be $7 a gallon. I know for a fact minimum wage where I live is $9.70 a hour but the fast food places around where I live hire at $10.75 a hour. Shits nuts if you get paid $7.25 a hour and paying that for milk lol
