Just to clarify, I don't agree or disagree with this decision yet.
I'm just looking for a good reason why they shouldn't be allowed to serve if they are physically and mentally capable enough to.

They can take away the ability for them to have the surgery done using the military budget, that makes complete sense to me and I don't actually know why they allowed that to happen in the first place.
That's like a teenager wanting to transition having the surgery done using the education budget.

But this outright ban doesn't make sense to me yet, perhaps some people can enlighten me.

I've been watching various debates, and I found that Ben Shapiro's focus on the matter has reasoning.
The video's a bit long, but I believe it'll answer all of your questions.

Totally disagree with the decision man why does it matter who wants to join the military wether if your homosexual or transgender anything man. I honestly think the point of joining the military is to serve for your country and to do better and greater things. Why should it matter who you like or what you like that's just plain stupid that's why I **** hate america.

The move was probably made for economic reasons, not human rights reasons. As some other users have posted, they waste quite an amount on the medical treatments after their reassignment surgeries, such as anti-depressants and such.

But, if the U.S. government spends 10x as much on penis pills, why is this such a traumatic thing for them? The military has made notice that they will not inact this measure until the Department of Defense director issues that this order is a go.

This is my own opinion just letting you know. No matter what they look like, where they come from, what their background is, What colour they are, what sex they are. All people should be all treated the same but in this 21st century it's the complete opposite. It's dumb and it really annoys me little things like this.

As military services await guidance following President Donald Trump's announcement last week via Twitter of a ban on transgender service members, the commandant of the Coast Guard is speaking out, saying he has no intention of leaving transgender Coast Guardsmen out in the cold.

Speaking on topic for the first time at the Center for Strategic and International Studies on Tuesday morning, Admiral Paul Zukunft said his first action upon becoming aware of Trump's tweets was to have his office reach out to all 13 members of the Coast Guard who have self-identified as transgender.

"I reached out personally to Lt. Taylor Miller, who was featured on the cover of the Washington post last week," Zukunft said. "If you read that story, Taylor's family has disowned her. Her family is the United States Coast Guard. And I told Taylor, 'I will not turn my back. We have made an investment in you, and you have made an investment in the Coast Guard, and I will not break faith.'"
