The very last stage of puberty is when your body adds muscle to turn from a boy to a man. You should have gained a considerable amount of size from this and you're probably back to normal now. You can check this article if you want to know more .

As for losing the weight, just find out your metabolic rate (how many calories you need) and eat less than that. You don't need to eat that many fruits or vegetables, just insure that you're eating some fruit and some vegetables.

I was helping another user yesterday and I gave him one of my diets. I use this for gaining weight but the foods and drinks are still pretty healthy.

Don't eat this many calories unless you want to gain weight but it gives a good idea to the kind of food you should be eating.

Obviously change this diet around if you're going to try and lose weight. Replace full fat milk with semi-skimmed and eat brown rice instead of white and so on and eat far less calories.

Hit the gym everyday no excuses , spend 1hr 30m - 2hrs per session.

Foods :
Meats : chicken , lean beef , fish etc (get the leanest type)
Carbs : pasta , white long grain rice or brown rice , wholegrain bread.
Protein: Supplements like whey or myprotein, eggs , chicken , lean beef , fish etc..
Fiber : cereals , wholegrain breads , low fat crackers.
sugars : oranges bananas apples strawberries etc.

Get some veggies in your diet for key nutrients I dont like veggies myself but just block your nose and drink water straight after.

Also I use fish oil tablets and vitamin tablets but only take if you need them.

Hope I helped!

-Photography- wrote Well...I'm still in the process of losing weight. It's going to be a long, slow process. I've only lost 21 pounds since November- but it's all fat and it's all come off due to a variety of things. I already feel better about myself and have dropped two clothes sizes, though I have a long way to go.

First, I absolutely had to readjust the way I ate and really, honestly look at my habits. I never felt like I ate very much at all and always blamed my "fat genes." I didn't actually eat all that much, but usually what happened was I fasted all day and binged terribly at dinner. BAD! So...first big change was to start eating breakfast, snacks, and lunch. A typical breakfast for me now might be a bunch of grapes, a small red pepper, some apple slices, and a cup of green tea (no milk, no sugar). Or perhaps 2 poached eggs, one slice of WHOLEGRAIN 100% rye toast, a fruit of some sort, and a cup of green tea.

Second, PORTION SIZE and SPEED. I used to load up my plate as high as it could go and fill my stomach to bursting point. Then I'd eat really fast. The fork was always loaded and ready to go and there was never any time to talk because I didn't want my food to be interrupted. I have been consciously analyzing my portion sizes now, and eating slowly.

Third, TYPES of FOOD...I have always been addicted to "traditional" American foods...mac and cheese, cornflakes, white bread, spaghetti based foods, mashed potatoes, lasagne, crackers, cookies, cakes etc. I don't think it's okay to eat any of these foods regularly. I know some people can eat them in moderation. but I don't think there is any room in most people's diets for this stuff, and that eating them makes you hungrier and moodier because your blood sugar levels go up and down too rapidly when you eat them. Since I've been eating Low Glycemic Load foods, I've been eating MORE food, more often...but losing weight. This means that the foods I choose score about a 10 or lower on the GL chart, and I make sure I eat no more than 10 or so GLs at any given meal. For the first time ever, I don't feel hungry all the time, and I haven't had a binge in months.

Fourth, I joined a GYM. I used to hate exercising, but now find that doing 40 to 60 minutes of inclined walking on the treadmill is easy. I plug in some headphones, listen to music, drink lots of water, then go have a sauna or steam, and then I feel great all day. People at the gym are great- no one laughed at me or made me feel unwelcomed. It's been a great experience.

Fifth, I stopped eating SUGAR regularly. Period. Cold turkey. This is important. No sugar in drinks or food or anything. I weaned myself off sweets by switching to diet soda and diabetic versions of things. This was really hard to do because I was very addicted and used to binge on whole cakes, boxes of doughnuts, entire cartons of ice cream etc. It was sick. I feel a lot better now. In fact, the other day I went and had my first slice of chocolate cake in months. It was a conscious choice and not a mindless craving. Guess what? I ate maybe half of it and threw the rest away. I didn't even want it that badly. Time was, I'd have bought two or three slices in carry-out boxes (pretending they were for other people of course) and scarfed them all down in private and then passed out and hated myself in the morning.

The key here, is researching, finding the science that makes sense, and getting control over yourself. Having unstable blood sugar levels makes it pretty much impossible to get control over your eating. I can't stress this enough. Blood sugar is the key. It took probably two full months before I kicked my bad habits. Today, I don't even crave things and I feel calm and in control.

As an added bonus, I look younger. My face looks better and more healthy. Apparently insulin spiking caused by a high glycemic diet causes your collagen to become stiffer- making you look older. A high sugar diet is a real beauty killer.

Hope this helps, good luck.

I def have to work on portion sizes I don't eat super excessively but I do eat more than I should

WittLowry wrote Well, weight is just a number. It's hard to say what I mean, but let me explain something. You can be 180 and chubby, or you can be 180 and muscular. So, if I were you I wouldn't lose weight, I'd just turn it all into muscle.

Easier said than done. Adding muscle takes a very long time (only about 1 to 2 pounds a month with proper training) & you have to be in a caloric surplus & obviously will gain more weight. To the OP, I would say cut down doing intermittent fasting by going in a caloric deficit & eat at a surplus on your traning days.

The best way to attain something your want physique wise is usually the what you want to do the least. For example for losing fat, cardio and a healthy diet is the best way. I prefer High intensity interval training (HIIT) because you can have a short cardio workout that burns more fat than a long run. Basically want to do intervals of sprinting and moving at a slower speed. [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] feel free to change that up to whatever you feel is better. I started with 15 sprint 15 rest for a total of 4-8 minutes based on how fit you are. You can use the bike or elliptical or run. Basically when you're finished you'll want to puke, but it is fast and effective and can be an entire workout or a quick 5 minute thing at the start of a lift. Give it a shot, and with a good diet you will lose that fat.
