I know that vape talk isnt allowed here but im not talking about vaping as if I do it, its a rant about a commercial. If this isnt allowed well then oops, delete or close the shit.

I saw a vape commerical on TV, I have my tv next to my monitor and its on sometimes.. I use it more as a light (I feel like a nerd for admitting that) anyway. I saw a commercial promoting vape pens but it wasnt in light to advertise helping people get off of cigs. It was just a commercial advertsiting vapes.. That is STUPID!! They dont advertise cigs but they can advertise beer and vapes??? It really worries me that people say "well its not BAD for you" listen listen listen, ANY smoke inside your body is not good, smoke from a fire NOT GOOD smoke from an incense NOT GOOD what would make you think smoke from a vape pen is ok?

Most of the people I know who vape have NEVER even smoked a cigarette.. They do it "for the clouds" BUT they defend it as being a thing "to help people quit smoking" which im sure works but... Youve never smoked before sooo??. Idk it makes no sense how you can advertise a less non healthy thing. Its not ok to advertise smoking cig but its totally ok to advertise smoking a vape. Doesnt make sense to me, maybe somebody below can shed some light for me but, please be rational.

I'm surprised they allow vape commercials as cigarette commercials are banned in some places. Alot of people smoke vapes to try and fit in. I've been smoking cigarettes ritualistically for 5 years and I do not like vapes. They're a waste of time and money. It's a trend, it will disappear.

I've got too agree with you on this if you're not using a e-cig for quitting smoking or as an alternative there is no need for it and if you still really want one and say your under 16 it really dosent look cool to go in public and smoke one you just look like a knobhead if anything just my opinion anyway and as for the advertisement thats kinda stupid seeing as im pretty sure the point they were invented were to quit smoking.

I honestly didn't know that they could advertise that. I figured since it was so close to smoking and drinking (which can't be advertised on TV anymore) that they naturally wouldn't allow vaping commercials either.

Is this the video you were talking about? This is the only vape video ad I have ever seen and I believe that it was actually taken down like right when it came out. But, after looking around, I actually remember seeing it.

I didnt know either, thats why I was so shocked! Now that you bring that one up I DO remember seeing that one aswell. But the one I saw was a bit different. It was colorful and was a a casual type of thing no people dressed up. At the end it showcased an array of flavors/scents too and seemed awfully cheap honestly sort of like e-cigs you buy at a gas station.

Kids need to feel big and cool and powerful, and after all "it's just water vapor".

I'm not worried about it, if you want to be dumb and kill your self, go ahead, I'm not going to stop you. This earth is over populated as it is, if you want to kill yourself early then so be it.

Just seems like another excuse of saying something under the lines of "Doesn't do anything to you" or "It's good for you". Heard it all before, those people didn't end up well in the end..

Coming from someone who doesn't vape, I think you are all missing a crucial point here.
E-cigarettes don't burn their tobacco, there is no smoke involved in the process.

The jury is still out on whether or not they are good for you in general so I'm not endorsing them and I agree that they shouldn't advertise something in a positive light before enough research has been done to determine whether or not they really are good for you.

But I think that people should be skeptical for the right reasons and smoke damage isn't one of them in this case.

If you're talking about the chemicals in the vapor which can cause harm to the lungs - and are using the term 'smoke' broadly - then that's perfectly fine, but it's not the similar to the extent of damage which is analogous with smoke from a fire.

From what I understand, most vapes actually do use a small igniter.
