Well, if he threatens to send it back and has valid proof that it was broken before hand, you're screwed. If however he doesn't then you get your xbox back and boom, no refund either.

even if he sent it through friends and family?

If it was fine before dont worry.

if it was broken then you may need to sort something out with him.

And then if it was fine before then the postal service is responsible for the damage

Honestly mate you should be fine, my advice would be to contact him telling/advising him he should send it off to someone to 'fix' (that's if it's really broken or if he just couldn't work it properly wink)

I believe you are fine. If it worked before you sent it, I see no problem. He probably doesn't even know how to use it tbh

I don't think you can take your money back from friends and family payments.

If no warranty was said or implied then it is assumed no warranty is associated with the product. The product is being sold as is, it's simply buyer beware.

Ran into this a lot selling consoles.

Easiest thing to do is whenever you sell request a payment from the buyer and wright a note stating your terms.

But back to your current, situation if the payment was sent as friends and family and no mention of a return was stated there is nothing the buyer nor PayPal can do.

Sending payment as "Friends and family" He can NOT get his money back unless he files an unauthorized access claim (which is fraud)and then he has a shot. With that being said, you need to provide proof that you did ship the item to him. Do not post proof it was a modded console or your in trouble.

Much like he said PayPal wouldn't like the sale of the modded console and your account would be locked and you would get no money.
