I think college for the most part is a waste of time, unless you are going to be an open heart surgeon or something. Too many kids have degrees and a butt load of debt, and are still jobless. In today's current job situation it is hard. Although you may have went to school for 4 years and have the education to do the job, I've done the job for 4 years so I have the skill. Who is the employer going to choose? Could go either way, but I would imagine skill. The other issue is having a college degree can actually make it harder for you to get a job, you can literally be over qualified for the job and they may turn you down.

Again, if you are going into a field where you need a college education, go for it, but I think it is smarter for kids to hop right into the work force and maybe later on get a degree if they feel they need it.

Once you get past the stupid pre reqs its great. You actully after all these years get to take the classes that matter and are important for your future degree.
