I'd say the Golf as VW's are great cars. I would also urge you NOT to buy a 1.2 Corsa as they are terrible to drive and have no power at all. You should look at a 1.6 Mini One, to say its a 1.6 its pretty cheap on insurance.

VW Polo - That was my answer before I even opened this thread, now that I see its an option, even better. One of the safest and easiest to insure cars, along with it being a great drive and looking nice af. No question for me, no point getting a golf now when a polo is just its cheaper brother.

Mk2 Golf hands down. You could get classic insurance on one of them which is cheaper than your average insurance anyway, though sometimes classic insurers won't go near younger drivers. I was considering a mk2 myself not long ago but they shot up in price and it would cost too much to get a decent one, or to buy one and get it into good shape. If not the mk2, I'd probably take the Lupo tbh, then the Polo. Corsa and Twingo I just wouldn't consider at all.

Mk2 Definitely. If you cant afford insurance then go for the polo, please dont get a corsa, nearly every street has atleast 1 or two, such crap & ugly cars.
