TTG_Illusion wrote Im not really planning on gaming a lot with it if i am it would be very simple games that virtually any laptop im pretty sure can run. The thing that I have been struggling with is the OS. I have never used a Mac that much before and I have always been a PC kid throughout my life. but the software ill just pirate for the most part so that doesn't matter to me really.

I've had to use a Mac daily for a media class I was in, I hated the OS. I thought it would be "easier", but everything was so confusing and different from a PC.

Honestly, software wise, PC is better than Mac. PC has a better version of Office, much more productivity tools, and almost everyone who designs PC software essentially designs for PC first, Mac a very distant second. Fundamentally speaking, if you want a computer for school, get a PC. It's much better regarding work than a Mac ever will be. There's a reason why every office uses PCs and not Macs.

I agree with you on every aspect of what you said basically. Its just what im trying to decide now if specs should over come OS. Like since im going in as a student I can get the macbook pro with better spec and cheaper than the Zenbook. Idk why the zenbook is so pricey still.

Look around, there should be a Zenbook cheaper than a Macbook Pro. However if the Macbook Pro is the best hardware you can find for the price, you can install Windows on it.

All the people saying PC have probably never used a Mac but from personal experience I would go with a Mac over a PC.

If i have to use boot camp I will but i dont really want to buy a mac and then just use windows on it. The reason for that is it would defeat the purpose of buying a Mac.

TTG_Illusion wrote Alright so mostly everyone is going mac here. Will it get the job done for computer science and how is the transition over from PC to Mac?

Depending on what software you use it wouldn't matter.
