Im not sure of an exact car to suggest for you, but the car that you choose will have to be an older model. maybe like around 2002-2005. You definitely won't get a nice newer car for 5000$ max.

I'm thinking of getting a Chevy Impala 2006 if you can get it at the right price.

The 2002-2005 ones are really reliable and don't cost more than $4000.

My friend has a nice car called an Oldsmobile Alero.

Really any Chevy car works fine, Malibu, Impala, etc.

I drive a mini cooper S myself but you won't find one for 5k, so I would recommend an old civic hatch or acura integra. Best deal you will find are on craigslist or mautofied.

Being real. Go for a grand prix of some sort. With the 3800 v6 engine. Its golden and will last you a long time.

my first car was a Nissan pulsar for 600 bucks lol.

I now own a Nissan skyline r33.

To be honest if you want something reliable and not to expensive i'd go for the toyota supra I had one and loved it.

Not to be mean or anything but your friends card isn't nice at all. And the car your thinking about getting is pretty ugly aswell. They both look like a grandparent car not trying to be mean or anything I'm just saying he could get tons of nicer cars in that same price range. But those 2 my friend are some ugly a*s cars.

i really like the subaru impreza but i cant find a 1999 to 2002 one that is for sale.
