I have an i7 because I know I need it. Almost daily I do work involving video editing/rendering and 3D animation/general work. I am no professional but I do require plenty of processing power to keep everything moving quickly so I can get work done. Because the i7 has hyperthreading I have that much more in terms of resources to multitask and do the work that I do.

The i7 is definitely a niche CPU, not for everyone simply because 95% of people don't need it.

Well.. i haven't been able to upload videos to youtube on an i3....takes a whole day, i want an i7 so i can have quick uploads, and multitask.

The video problem is your internet, i7 will only become effective if you're multitasking demanding programs, which you are not. Go do some research on hyperthreading. Just get an i5.
