Obviously this was a terrible accident but it's still a gun wether it's plastic or metal( handgun ) ( BB gun ) both have the same word in them, GUN

He should have dropped the weapon. You can't tell from 20 or 30 feet if it's a toy. If a person is told by the authorities to drop the weapon you dam well better drop it, it could save your life. These air guns look very realistic and to differentiate them at a distance is difficult. a verbal command was given and he turned with the air gun in his hand. Any cop would have done the same.

Yea, it was an accident, and could have possibly been avoided..

Heck, probably when I was about twelve years old, I was having an airsoft war at a baseball field near my house, and little did I know a officer lived across the street.

He came out, gun drawn aiming at us telling us to put our "weapons" down. Thinking back on it, I realize i'm actually lucky to not have been shot seeing how I continued to walk towards him before putting it down...

Gun's aren't a joke. An airsoft, or a real one.

Of all places, why a baseball field?

Anyways, he had a chance to put it down. Why he didn't, we'll never know.

Good, kid didnt respond to the police, didnt put the gun down, the police did exactly what they were trained to do. Take action. Doesnt matter if the victim is 13 or 62. A threat is a threat. And if youre too stupid to "be too cool for the cops" then you deserve a nice bullet to the head.
