Intel- wrote Sadly no, but I am buying a cooler master 212 plus

I would upgrade to a FX-6300 and sell my 965 BE for $80 or $90

I just spent a boat load on a nice keyboard and mouse pad so I only have $30

I just want to get the full performance I can for cheap. Would it throttle the six core? It is a good motherboard and my airflow is outstanding and I am adding 3 more case fans for a total of 6 and a new aftermarket cooler more ram another Hard Drive and a new mouse.

I don't want all that to be held back by a CPU

The motherboard has a 4+1 VRM that's heatsinked, but manufacturers have but beefy cooling on sub-par power phases before and it hasn't made the VRM good. It will do the job, though. The FX 6300 does have a lower TDP than the 8-cores and Phenom II X4 BEs, but it's hard to justify as an upgrade. You won't get $80 for a used 965 and I've seen them go that low new, so your best CPU upgrade is going to be an overclock. It should be easy to get a good one with your setup.

I'd recommend the Enermax ETS-T40-TB instead of the Hyper 212 Evo, but it doesn't really matter. It should be a bit better.

I have a buyer because I am building a PC for a friend with the same CPU, he said he would buy it for 90$ since I am building it for him and I need the money.

If I get $90 for it, would it be worth it to upgrade?

In games, the difference will not be much. You can overclock the 6300 more than the 965, though, so that's where the benefit will be. Whether it's worth $50 is something you've got to decide.

In many games including most modern games they on utilize 4cores so tbh, your current cpu and the ones you suggested will see little to no improvement in games the only place I suspect you will see noticeable difference will be rendering

Intel- wrote So you are saying that my processor now is better than an 8 core? I highly doubt it and I don't want any intel fanboys responding please

Yes, it is short for my XBL gamertag and has no association with the Intel company
