You probably have never had an Elgato. I loved my Elgato so much I sold my pvr, I know what Im talking about...

They both get the job done. Some people don't like to have wires everywhere and some people don't care. Even though i am sponsored by them, they still have amazing capture quality man and have made a ton of improvements on there hdpvr 2 compared to there hdpvr 1212. Even though the Elgato has a couple nice features the HDPVR is still stronger.
