FailedMathTest wrote There is no way you can run that processor at that speed with a stock cooler.. let alone get up to 5ghz on that old as AMD processor that already runs hot even with the stock cooler. That processor MIGHT be able to get to 3ghz but definitely not on a stock cooler.

Running and being stable are 2 VERY different things, it may boot up and get to the desktop but that would be it, but he's right there's no way your running a 5Ghz OC with a stock cooler and actually getting things done...

Well if you don't think that then by all means do, i know its been to 5GHz and can easily go to 5GHz considering a 1.66 Atom can go to 5/6GHz with a big push and alot of cooling, on 5GHz OC my cpu reaches maybe 50 Degrees Celcius, i have a fan permanently on 12volt power keeping it cool, either my thermal paste is messing up the thermometer and not transferring heat to the heatsink or my CPU is gifted, i think its neither of them and it can literally cope with it.

You sir, are **** retarted plain and simple, there is no way a CPU of that sort can manage 5ghz and stay at 50 degrees celcius. especially with a stock cooler and be stable. there is simiply no way, my question is where you are getting these 5ghz readings from? i would love to see a screenshot.

You obviously don't have much experience. You're arguing with EVERYONE that's trying to help you and save your computer from exploding. Yet you think it's fine. It's not. That CPU will be fried within a few months.
It may be fine now but when it screws up you will regret it. Stock cooler?
Def not possible. At least bring it down a little.
Good luck and ok build. But not very stable or good for gaming.

Sorry, i do not wish to appear as if im arguing im just stating how my setup is and how it seems to work fine, i know 5GHz is a massive increase in CPU power and would most certainly make it "blow up" but believe me im surprised it went that high but as stated it's only ever that high when running minecraft, i have not experienced any issues in the past 6 months of it being set to 5GHz for about 4 hours or so, if anything its done what the point of OC-ing is, adding to your power.

I apologise for my apparent "dumbness" but hey if its working for me it don't matter right? either way im planning on upgrading to a q6600 CPU and compatible board so it is no loss for me if it were to die its just meeting my requirements when i need it

You just reinforced that fact that you dont know jack s h i t... your upgrading to a q6600?? a socket 775 processor?? get out of here with that outdated junk.... that is a pointless upgrade from what you currently have. if anything you should upgrade to socket AM3+, Intel 1155(sandy/ivy bridge), or 2011. upgrading to a q6600 is a complete waste of time... people like you make me question humanity.

No my friend i just reinforced the fact im not a rich kiddie who finds in necessary to spend a stupid amount of money on crap i don't need, all i do is play minecraft, i don't wanna play "high end" games as i have a console for that, people like you make me question logic.

(just incase you can't get the link, i said semi-gaming in the title im not interested in playing games on a pc thus proving you have no logic)

when i get the chance and find it necessary to prove people wrong yes at the moment i don't think its needed, people are so quick to judge and get personal, look at FailedMath Test, doesn't realize that maybe a AM3+ setup is way out of my price range considering i don't actually live with my parents or own my own place infact im still technically homeless, not to mention the fact i don't need a "future proof" computer because im a console gamer, hell my younger brother still has an old dell dimension 8 series pentium 4 setup that runs on RD RAM and gets the job he uses it for done
