Now, like the others have said, practice your chords and learn to read music. I also recommend getting lessons. I've been playing for several years, but playing with my teacher is always so much fun. Even after years of playing, my teacher always gives me incite to be a better player. Im not a soloist, more of a rhythm guitarist, so these tips may not apply to you, but they may help.

- When your first starting, stay within your own element. Dont play things that are in tunings you arent comfortable with yet as a starting player.

- Websites are great for tabulatures, but there is a chance some of them are wrong. So, just have confidence in yourself, and try to learn some parts to songs by ear.

-Learn to alternate pick effectively. It may be a struggle in the beginning, but it will pay off in the end, and the sooner you learn, the more effective you will be later.

-The most important thing I can offer you is to have fun. Your practicing and learning a fine art. You will have problems in the beginning, but you will work your way up to a shredder.

Thanks, id like to learn to be a soloist, but not anytime soon. And as far as the teacher, I cant afford a true professional, but Ive got a frient thats been playing since he was six. He offered to teach me.

A 12 string Gibson Firebird. These things are so rare, I can only dream about getting the chance to play one. I mean 65' firebirds are hard enough to find let alone a 12 string Jesus.

I've always LOVED the old Gibson Firebird... But I had no idea about the 12 string D: *drool*
