Hey TTG, I was just wondering if there were any guitar players on here?

I just got an Epiphone SG Special (I know not the greatest, but good for my budget)

Any ways I was just wondering that if there were any guitar players if they could give me tips, or recommend any youtube series for it?

Thanks TTG!

The SG is a brilliant guitar, i used to have one a couple years ago. And as for you asking for advice, are you new to guitar playing?

Yes, well mostly. I play my friends accoustic every now and then, but just some basic chords.

Ahh i see. I've found myself playing my acoustic much more recently. As soon as you feel confident in finger placement and picking ability, go to a guitar tab site such as ultimate-guitar.com. Basically tabs just show what fret on what string, or chords if its an acoustic song. Tabs are the easiest way to learn songs you know

Thanks, you know I used to prefer the sound of an acoustic more simply because of the more mellow tones, but I find myself listening to more heavy metal and its been inspiring me to play. And actually one of the first songs Id like to learn is "All Around the Watchtower - Jimi Hendrix"

Great song to learn haha. I actually had a metallica phase with playing guitar at one point, and metalcore. But as for writing my own content, i found the acoustic to be easier to create your own unique sound instead of some makeshift guitar rock riffs, just my opinion though i guess

Id agree that the acoustic would be easier to compose. Its funny actually. Metallica - Enter Sandman was the first more heavier metal sounding song I listened to when I was a kid, but the love for metal fell out for me for a while. But never completely and now im inspired. lol

I remember trying to compose metal at one point, i just didn't have the ability to make It, especially guitar solos. I'm more of a finesse player than a shred your face off player haha
