Would it void the warranty?

It shouldn't. It's a normal maintenance thing.

And not the biggest fan of it. The gain is a bit too high for one... But it sounds really disjointed otherwise.

Also, finally got a tube amp. I traded my O2 for a Millet Minimax to use for my transportable setup.

Budget: ~$150

Music preferences: Anything. Most genres (indie, rap, hiphop, rock, triphop, electronic, etc). I would like a good balance of music quality for all genres.

Type/form-factor: Over the ear

Open or closed: Closed

Listening from: On-board audio of my pc.

Details: I will be using these headphone for gaming and music, 50/50. For gaming I need them to be comfortable, and for music I need good quality sound. I have a pair of Samson SR850s and they are definitely comfortable, but fall short in the music category. I would to stay pretty close to $150 but I will take suggestions of more.

Thanks

My friend has these and they are awesome, I would recommend them. Anything Bose is good.. I wish I had those instead of Beats.

Yeah I think Beats are terrible in my opinion. The quality isn't even good and they are so over priced.

Nope, the SE215 should be a lot better for the same price.

What are you looking for in an IEM, though?

I have these as well as the apple earpods.

They're both very similar in quality of sound, however the IE2 have more bass. They're both very comfy, but I find the IE2 better, as they're rubber and have different size ear pieces.

HOWEVER - I am now on my 3rd pair of IE2. I've had the same problem with the two previous versions; too much bassy music kills them. They begin to rattle terrible and finally completely lose the bass.

Are they worth the money? No, there are plenty of earphones that have much better sound, but they're the only earphones that ever stay in my ear when I'm doing a work out.

Other Bose earphones/headphones? Trash. Owned OE, OE2, and AE. Just bought a pair of COP, and apart from my one off problem with my left ear, they're miles better quality. Miles.

r00t, I may need an intervention. I got my Beats Pros in the mail today. Hooked them up to some warm tubes, and oh my goodness these are good.

I've been listening to them for more than half an hour now and tweaking as I see fit. There's a painful amount of treble in the 6khz and 4khz regions, but with fixing that...I like them. Obviously not as much as my SA5000, but I actually think I like them more than the T50RP I traded them for. Though I'm likely not going to be without a pair of T50RPs for a while. I'm 90% sure I'm buying a pair of Paradoxes as my last pair of headphones for a long, long while.
