The Uptown should be exactly what you're after.

Budget: $100-$150 (I can stretch if I have to, but Amazon's Warehouse Deals are pretty fantastic with pricing lately)
Music: Indie folk, electronic, grunge, metal, classical, pop
Type: Around Ear
Open or Closed. Open
Listening from: An amp with enough power; I assure you. ;)
Portability: Nope

I'm probably getting something new soon and since I'm bored, I'm asking for help. I'm getting an HD600 soonish and want a compliment that I don't have. My K181s satisfy my bass wants, the DT48 is my vocals headphone, my T50RP is my chill out headphone (which the HD600 will probably surpass them in), my K271 is my other mids headphone for when I want some fullness. Then there are my other random headphones.

The longer I'm using my friend's SA5000, the farther away is my wanting of another bright headphone. My RP50 satisfies that wish. I actually have to damp that a lot now that I've heard an actual Sextett. They may have the passive radiators, but they make the SA5000 sound laid back.

I feel like I have enough headphones, but...they're all disappointing in different ways. By December, I aim to have a few central headphones. So basically, I'll have the HD600, K181, DT48, and T50RP as my main headphones. After all that, I'll still want something with either a huge soundstage or a euphoric sound, because none of them have that.

I'm looking at the AD900, MA900 (Weird coincidence), maybe an F1, and if I get really lucky, a Q701. I've heard none of these; I'm hoping maybe someone here has? I was looking at the K500, but they seem to be too close to the HD600. The DT880 seems to be a pipe dream at this point if I want to buy an HD600.

If anyone knows of a headphone that's basically a more durable ESW9, that'd be nice too. I love how those sound, but they're depressingly fragile for a portable.

I swear I'll end up buying something. I'm saving the HD650 for a later date, when my ears are less tuned to a bright sound.

Shanks!

What about the AT AD700 and Ultrasone HFI-580? I've never heard either, but I've heard a lot of good things about the AD700's soundstage and I know S-Logic works. I haven't heard enough headphones to imagine a euphoric sound.

Have you heard anything about the ATH-ES88? They look solid, but that band better have some serious flex to it.

Budget: 120GBP

Music preferences: House, dubstep, liquid dubstep, hip hop, RnB, Grime, Opera, DnB, Enigma (I need to be able to hear beautiful highs, defined mids and low but tight bass)

Type/form-factor: On ear or around, preferably around

Open or closed: Closed

Listening from: SG S2

Details: Need to be extremely comfy, isolate noise well, loads of bass but not drown mids and highs out, portable (suitable cable length). CAN'T LEAK SOUND. Need to be stylish and elegant, but classy.

Been told HFi 580 are good, but cable is too long.

I have the money to get them now.

Well, there the PRO700MKII and HFI580 that the bassheads are raving about, but they're not open. The Alessandro MS1i or whatever the model is can be considered, there's also the UE6000 and etc, I can't really remember the sound signature of the ESW9 but I do believe it's warmish. Less bassy than the HD25. Maybe the DT1350 might be close.

Check out the PRO700MKII, they might not have enough highs for you. The DT770 pro80ohm is another thing to look at, but I don't think the SII can power it. The custom one pro might just work for you, but I'll let the others comment on that

Budget: $80

Music preferences: Country and older rock

Type/form-factor: Over ear

Open or closed: Im guessing open would be better for this music type?

Listening from: CD Player

Details: These are for my uncle who is mentally retarded, and loves music. He has been bugging me for some headphone because I have a pair of skullcandy that he loves to use. He mostly listens to country music, from a portable cd player. And takes the headphones everywhere, so foldable would be preferred. Durability isnt a big deal as he takes very good care of his stuff. Thanks, r00t.

The V6 and DJ100 are both good folding portables that will be good for his music. The closed design is probably better because open headphones in public is usually not a good thing. These both happen to be very durable as well, but that's not why I suggest them.
