I mean, sure, it's $6,000, but it'll sound fantastic. If you want to be ambitious, you can look for an Audio Technica L3000, but those are upwards of $3,000 alone and apparently don't really sound much better than the $1,200 DX1000.

And I think J$ went out of business, so that probably won't be the most viable option. There are actually benefits to using velour pads instead of leather. Leather pads may be able to seal better, but the velours soak up some of the treble (which, trust me, they'll need) and plus, they're more comfy.

There's still the Lawton pads or the stock D2k pads around I believe. I think those should work too.

Fostex modding could be a potential market. The TH600 and TH900 might just be like the D2000 and D5000

I'd be pretty afraid to get $1,000+ headphones modded, but I'd be quite curious as to what would be possible.

Also, this is the greatest headphone thread in the history of ever: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

Budget: Max $100

Music preferences: Bass, Dubstep, Rap/Hip-Hop

Type/form-factor: In-Ear

Open or closed: Closed

Listening from: Droid RAZR, iPod, Computer

Details: I want extreme bass, but even mids and highs.

Overall, I want earthshattering bass but not to much to distort the mids and highs, I was thinking about getting Astro A*Star or Sennheiser CX 300B MK II Precision Enhanced Bass ?

You can't have both extreme bass and good mids at your price point. I'm assuming you care more about bass though, at at your budget, I'd go with these: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
