This guy knows what he's talking about. If he tells you to buy something, you had better damn buy it. ;)

Thanks again for the recommendation. Can't take these out of my ears now. Good luck with helping everyone else.

Budget: $100 Absolute Max USD

PC Gaming: War Games (BF3,CoD) etc...

What kind you want: Over Ear (Surround)

Whether you want open or closed headphones: Not very sure, which would be better for PC Gaming?

What you are listening from: Computer

(Copied from my head-fi post)

I've got this issue with my TBSE1s which I doubt can be remedied by an amp or pad replacement - cymbals aren't "reproduced" properly. It's not that they're just farther back in the background, but there are parts missing. I confirmed by playing the same song on the same player and comparing the TBSE1s with the RP-HTX7s. Has anyone else found this irritating or even a dealbreaker?

Dang, the price just went up by $10. The next logical step down is the $50 Superlux HD668B... So... I guess it's up to you. Both are extremely good for gaming. Better than any Turtle Beach, Tritton, Astro, etc.

Hey r00t_b33r I was wondering if i got the Sennheiser HD 555s with a Zalman clip-on mic for xbox gaming would you recommend an asto pro mix amp. Also would i just plug the amp into the xbox or would I have to plug some stuff into the tv. Also does the Zalman mic have a mute button?

If you're willing to spend that much, yes. You'll get better quality than any Trittons, Astros, TBs, and what have you from this set up. I would switch the HD 555 for the Audio Technica AD700, though. The ZM-1 itself doesn't have a mute button, but I believe the Mixamp does. For the price, this mic is killer!

Thanks for your help, do you know any mics that have a built in mute button?

People, jump on this like it's hot: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

I really dislike them, but that's because I'm a mid-freak and these have really weird mids. These are probably the best <$30 headphone for anyone that likes bass.
