What you are listening from: iPod
The Hifiman RE0 (Head-Direct RE0) is absolutely incredible for your kind of music and one of the best values out there in terms of sound, but the build quality is terrible. In my opinion, that's a deal breaker.
Instead, I would get the Westone 1 (UM1) or even the Brainwavz M4.

Thank you, I plan on ordering the Westone 1's tomorrow. Hope they are as good as you say they are . I also read some reviews on them and it sounds like they are a good set of earbuds so thank you for the suggestion.

No budget, no recommendation. Sorry. If you're not sure, you can look at the guide in the OP.

Trust me, it does. I could recommend you a setup that will run you more than $20,000 USD.
The budget is the biggest determining factor when I recommend headphones.

You seem to be able to go over budget, so the Audio Technica ES10 should be within your reach. The Sennheiser HD25 works too. Or you could buy the most expensive Grado you can afford.

Aha! There we go. I'm going to suggest you save some money and get the V-Moda M80. They look awesome, sound awesome, and are built extremely well. They should do well with rock music, as well. As Ishcabible said, though, stepping it up is a good option, too.
