If I helped you pick some headphones, post something telling me. You could also bump the thread so more people can see this. I have to stop the Beats and Bose rampage!

Full size: Sony XB700 (One of the only good bass-oriented headphones out there, and man, they are BASSY.)

In-ear: Brainwavz M2 (I'll be recommending these a lot)

On-ear: Koss Portapro. (These too.)

Your budget (make sure you tell me what currency!) : probably $50 tops

Which genres you'll be listening to. heavy metal (asking alexandria, the devil wears prada, etc.)

What kind you want (over-ear, on-ear, in-ear, no preference, etc.) and whether you want portability. in ear/no preference (please give one of in ear an one of your choice) and yes i need portability

Whether you want open or closed headphones (open allows other people to hear at high volumes and some improvements, closed headphones do not leak sound as much and are slightly limited in some ways).

1 open 1 closed (example of each please)

What you are listening from (iPod, phone, desktop computer, laptop, console, turntable, etc.). ipod

Since you like metalcore, I can't help but recommend the Grado SR60is for your tastes. They stretch your budget by around 20 or 30 bucks, but just consider them. The in-your-face signature is LEGENDARY for rock.

Otherwise, back to the budget range. For on-ears, Koss Portapros (I know I recommend them a lot, but there really is nothing better at the price point.

For IEMs, there are a few worth considering. The Brainwavz M1 is within your price range, but the M2 is a considerable improvement at $60, and I'd say it is worth it, but I'm not you. You might also consider the Brainwavz Pro Alpha. If you want to save money, the Meelectronics M6, CX21, or M21.

Klipsch Image S4 (These woud probably be your best bet), Monster Turbine, Head-Direct/Hifiman RE-0 (Not as bassy as others), Brainwavz M2.

When you say open for in-ears, I'm assuming you mean earbuds. I've got you covered. The Yuin PK2s (or PK1s if you can spend more) are the best earbuds available. They look cheap, but that is not the case!
