Change you lifestyle/ Look out for nutrition

Like for example here in UK we have Walkers which is the same as Lays (little fact, lays own walkers) and a 25g single packet of ready salted has 8 grams of fat, i used to have one daily sometimes i'd have 2 or 3 day( yeah i had no job, so i was eating because i was bored not because I was hungry) but now I have crisps/ potato chips that have 2.1 grams or less of fat and have the same weight. If you eat meat like myself and you have mince, you may or may not know that mince is very fatty, so go for turkey/beef mince that has 5% fat

Introduce speed foods

speed foods are foods that go through your body quickly. For example kale, onions, chopped tomatoes, broccoli, there's more out there. usually green foods are the speed ones
For my dinner today my mom is going to cook me:
2 Pork Chops (full of protein)
Wholemeal fusilli pasta (Fibre)
Broccoli, Cauliflower and Leak ( speed food goes through)
Tinned Chopped tomatoes on my Pork Steaks ( speed food goes through)

Get your family to plan the meals
What my mom does is every saturday morning she creates an excel document and she writes what food were having on what days, for example monday this week for me was Bran flakes and a Banana in the morning, salad in the afternoon and Mack reel, rice and mixed reg for dinner, always good to stay ontop because then you or your parents won't feel the urge to go like McDonald's and get something, also go food shopping with your parents and suggest that we try this etc.

Replace food
What I mean by this is instead of having an ham sandwich at lunch, have like a fresh packed lunch and have a salad, don't go to the shops and buy their salads because pre prepared salad tend to be full of fat but example them using full fat mayonnaise. When I'm at college for lunch I have ham salad ( lettuce, peppers, cucumber and cheese)

Finally don't always eat fruit everyday, because fruit contains sugar but good sugar(natural sugar) but natural sugar can just be as dangerous as added sugar, what I mean by added sugar is the sugar in like coke

You diet on healthy foods. You never eat anything bad, or drink any sodas. (Sodas just bring that fat back) do work outs to burn some of that fat such as running a few miles, burpees, maybe some abs. Now this takes time, as my brother known teacher once said "Rome wasn't built in a day". You just need to keep at it and meet your goal to how much weight you need to lose.

I was the same mate, you don't want to be skinny guy.

Just cut out the crap you eat midweek things such as fizzy drinks chocolate and crisps etc... i was 196lbs dropped to 175lbs and then got on the weights and now at 185lbs but bulkier size, more shape to my body. Just takes time and you may not see results quick, which is the worst when you try stay motivated but when you do it becomes and addiction.

you have all the wrong intentions mate.
i'm in the same boat as you, i'm about 5'11 and 175 lbs looking to lose some more weight (was 215 on new years, i can say i've made some progress and i'm pretty damn happy) and i can tell you that 175 isn't fat man. it's far from skinny but definitely right around the weight you want to be. take the advice from the other guys and start dieting so you can keep your weight around the same number but start working out in a routine so you can work that fat off and turn it into muscle and get the body you want. from what i can tell you want to see results instantly which doesn't work in bodybuilding/losing weight etc.. can also tell you that once you get into the routine and it becomes a normal thing, the time will fly by and you will start seeing that you're getting really close. this is where i have some issues, i see that i'm very close to my goal and start taking more lazy days instead of hitting the gym. (lol i'm weird) but the #1 rule is to stay dedicated. you started at the right time; you want to make a change over the summer so you can come back to school and be a different person. make your own 3 month plan for the summer and stick to it, you will be where you want by the end of the 3 months without a doubt if you can stick to the routine. good luck

12.5 stone / 175 pounds is a healthy weight for your height. I'm similar and wouldn't consider myself fat at all. Just cut out fizzy drinks, bread and chocolate.

A friend and I do what some people call Fasting, where you don't eat until about 2pm-5pm but you eat really healthy, also when excersizing I try to eat before I workout so that way I burn off any calories during my workout that I consumed thus forcing my body to burn fat as oppose to gain fat, might not be a very healthy option but I've done it for about a year now with no problems.

Low carb/sugar diet is your best route. You dont necessarily have to track calories, just make sure to eat as little carbs and sugar as possible.
