TV Show Review Thread

I saw that we had a Movie Review Thread (Made by Ever) and only thought it was fair to make a TV Show Review Thread. So anyone that wants to post a review on a certain TV show feel free to post it in here.

As far as layout of the reviews go, it's pretty much the same for everyone that is familiar on how to make a Review on here, just a little different in wording. If you don't understand how to setup a Review or need some Guidance, please feel free to follow my Review Layout below or get the idea from Dimebag's Thread found Here, or Ever's Thread on Movie Reviews foundHere

TV Show Review Information

Synopsis

After you've filled out the Show's Information it's time to move onto the Synopsis of the Show. Basically a short summary that gives the show's accurate background. You can copy this from the originated source, or you can type it out.

Story Line of the Show

In this section you will explain the best you can on the main story of the Show. What's the motive /or goal through the series? What has occurred in the Seasons? The Plot of the Series? Be as informative as possible to really grasp on what the show is really about.

Please make sure you put spoilers around this part. To better hide the story being ruined for others.

For Example:
[spoil][/spoil] <-- This is what you put the story in between. So it comes out saying: "Click to View Content"
.

Rating

The last part is simple. Just give it your overall rating. Preferably 1-10. 1 being bad and 10 being great.

Feel free to leave a Thumbs Up or Thumbs Down on a Review. This will give a general idea to the readers or audience of what kind of opinions others may have on it.

Synopsis

An ex-assassin and a wealthy programmer save lives via a surveillance AI that sends them the identities of civilians involved in impending crimes. However, the details of the crimes--including the civilians' roles--are left a mystery.

Story Line

The show first sets off in quite a eerie way, a man lost in the past and forgotten in the future, John (Jim Caviezel) sets himself on a road of despair and nothingness, waiting to drop into the abyss. But, out of no where some street punks decide to pick on the wrong man, John ends up going the Police Station to only be greeted by a friendly face well known as Detective Carter (Taraij P. Henson). She asks him questions only to find no answers. As he is released he is greeted again by a unfamiliar face, some call him a person of interest, others call him Finch (Michael Emerson), he tells John that he has a solution a purpose for his existence. From that moment on John and Finch partner up, curious about one another they keep leading themselves into a dead end. There is no possible explanation oft these two gentlemen for they are nothing but ghosts.

As John and Finch work together on preventing crimes before they happen, they are dealt with impossible like challenges that surely cause a stir in their plans. Of course this was all part of Finch's plan, to get someone with trained skill in combat to help ensure the safety of lives and protection of the people. However John still can't wonder about how Finch is getting his information. As John further investigates and countlessly gets shot-down, him and Finch start to form a bond of friendship. As they battle out many battles coming close to death and even cheating death, they find themselves in situations no one expected.

They meet new friends and enemies with new problems. Problems their machine (AI) can't even handle. They begin to rethink on their whole situation in joining this vigilante group. Have they crossed to many lines? Where will they end up? How will this all play out? I'll leave the rest for you to discover.

Rating

9/10

I'd rate this show 9/10. It's very well played out, great actors, great plot, great show in general. I'd highly recommend this to anyone. It's very action packed and keeps a steady reel of drama.

Note: This is an anthology series so each season has a different story with different characters.
This review will be focused on Season 1, which I, and general critical consensus, feel is the best one so far.

Synopsis

An anthology series in which police investigations unearth the personal and professional secrets of those involved, both within and outside the law.

Season 1

In 2012, Louisiana State Police Detectives Rust Cohle and Martin Hart are brought in to revisit a homicide case they worked in 1995. As the inquiry unfolds in present day through separate interrogations, the two former detectives narrate the story of their investigation, reopening unhealed wounds, and drawing into question their supposed solving of a bizarre ritualistic murder in 1995. The timelines braid and converge in 2012 as each man is pulled back into a world they believed they'd left behind. In learning about each other and their killer, it becomes clear that darkness lives on both sides of the law.

Storyline

Season 1 starts off in Louisiana where homicide detectives Martin Hart and Rustin Cohle are investigating the murder of a young woman whose body was displayed ritualistically.
As they continue to investigate and learn more about each other, the case begins to impact their personal lives.
The investigation progresses to a point where it interferes with their personal lives, their motivations for actions and beliefs explained in interviews with each character set during 2012.

Rating

This is the best TV show I have ever watched, and I'm not afraid to say that I've watched a lot of TV shows.
The directing, the script, the acting, the cinematography, it is all perfect. If any TV show deserves the moniker of 'perfect' it is this one.
If you enjoy true drama, real characters who have real stories and believable lives, this is the show for you.
The first season of this show is like watching an 8 hour Oscar worthy movie.
Unmissable TV is an understatement.

There are conflicting articles, but HBO is keeping Nic Pizzolatto well into 2018 and they said in a statement that there was still a lot of potential for the show.
So I think it's incredibly likely they'll do season 3.

Right. I should probably get around to finishing the second season.
