I am looking for advice on my current parts list for my build. My maximum budget is $2500. I am currently looking at $2107 with everything I have so far.

What would you recommend I do better? This build is for gaming/workstation use.

if its going to be a workstation such as rendering change your Ram to 2400Mhz

Also change your 970 to a 980 if you have money left from your budget

Only reason I say workstation is because I use Spreadsheet software, JAVA application software(Netbeans, etc), all the time.

Is there a huge difference in the 970 vs the 980?

The price difference isn't worth it as you could SLI 970s which would greatly out preform a 980 at nearly the same price. Or you could just overclock the 970 to match stock speeds of a 980 and save some dolla bills.

The two-way SLI does sound nice. I've heard some great things about using two 970s.

problem is 970 will out do a 980 but not massively so i would get a 980 but thats just me also you would need a bigger power supply as well if you were going to sli

He won't need another PSU. He has a 750w EVGA PSU. It'd probably only be pushing 500 Wattsish total to add another card to his rig

yes but then he has his CPU and harddrives of which all draw from the PSU and overclocked CPU uses 110W easy. i have the same CPU and mine does 115W.

But there is one important thing with PSUs they say you get 750W as thats what there made to draw but you actually dont get that much and this is where the 80% efficiency comes in. with gold i think its like 90% or something so you dont actually get 750W. but when you load up a game thats demanding the GPUs will draw more power as will the power hungry Haswell CPU.

although Maxwell will reduce the power they are drawing from the PSU if there is not enough of it then thats when they will start to bottleneck due to lack of power so his GPUs may only run at 80% of there power target so which is there wont be much benefit from the sli

Not bad considering the 2-way SLI. Didn't realise how much more wiggle room I'd have removing the two monitors.
