r00t wrote I disagree. The H440 comes with three 120mm fans in the front and a 140mm fan at the rear so it's certainly good for air cooling. The 780 Ti should actually consume more power and although it runs cooler, it's different silicon and it behaves differently. I'm just suggesting it because he might want to save some money and he might prefer AMD features or use OpenCL. The drivers are just as good.

I know the H440 has good amount of fans included, but have you seen the top and front panel? Is a really tight gap for the fans to get some air in with the noise dampening foam. That's why I was saying that the airflow would be pretty poor and that the 780ti(It has the beautiful reference cooler) I provided would outperform the R9 290X in cooling/temperatures.

About the air cooler been pointless. I meant it as the case is specifically made for a good amount of radiators support and it would seem odd going with an air cooler.

If the H440 is bad for air cooling, then it's bad for water cooling too. I'm not saying its an Antec Eleven Hundred or anything but its good for the same reason the Fractal R4 is. The front design does restrict airflow to an extent, but the trade off gives you lower noise and a nice look. The design is effective and I don't understand how a case can be exclusively for water cooling just because it's well-designed with radiator compatible mounts everywhere. People that use more than a single AIO rad are an extremely niche market and rad mounts also happen to be fan mounts.

I'm also not talking about stock coolers and I'm aware that the current Nvidia stock coolers are awesome, but they're still blowers which I am not suggesting. As for the temps, the 780 Ti will shut down at 95 C whereas the 290X has a default target temp of 95 C. It's just the nature of the silicon. For instance, Haswell's TJ max is 100 C but Vishera's is only 70 C. Again, different silicon behaves differently and it's not an issue. Yes it runs hot, but it's not a bad thing. The review I posted was for aftermarket coolers and both have low noise.

Hi r00t,
Thanks for your help I have ordered the CPU, 780 ti and motherboard according to the one you posted.

I am just a bit curious because I can stretch my budget a little, do you think I should get the Samsung U28D590D 60Hz 28 inch over the monitor you linked me to, I do agree with you in that a good monitor is essential to make the most of a build like this but would I notice a significant difference between 4K and the monitor you referred.

The monitor I suggested is much cheaper and the image quality will be better, but if 4K is what you want, then go for that one. It's very good for a TN panel. 4K has more than twice the pixel count of the QHD monitor. Of course you'll notice, but your graphics card will also have to push twice as many pixels.

Thanks for your help, I guess I am heading for the Samsung, may as well stretch the budget a little and make the most of a good build.
