There are other ways to get to work, i.e. Public Transit.

But what about people who live out in the country? There is no public transit, and if their is no one to take you to work then what? Listen, I know of several circumstances where my friends have had to co-op with highschool, leave everyday at 11, just to go straight to work so they can help their mom and/or dad put food on the table. Times are tough. We dont need to put more restrictions on the driving age. Heck, I think once you hit the age of 65 you should have to retake the driving tests again.

Don't think raising it to 18 will have any effects.

Ummm. No. No way in hell. This was debated once in my Economics class. The 'alternatives' to driving if such law were to pass. Here are two big ones as to why public transit is a no. Not all places have access to public transit. Without that. What is in question. A bike? Not on busy roads it isn't. Someone to take you? Not reliable. Public transit has specific times and is sometimes spastic and unreliable as well. If this law came in effect, employers would have to have to put in a lot of effort to adjust the schedules of younger people who can no longer drive to fit their needs. Changing the driving age would create so many issues it's not even funny. Companies with young hires would lose money. The government would have to put new laws in effect or create some sort of alternative for students and workers of young age alike to get them around. You see my point? No one benefits in the end. Students/workers lose valuable time. Companies lose money. The government creates another expensive and unnecessary crapstorm.

I think they should make the age to begin driving at 18 and the oldest you can be to drive is 60 and every 6 months after you must take a driving test to see if you are able to be safely driving on the road. Because every elderly person i see on the road don't know how to drive properly at all and it pisses me off so much since i am a pizza delivery driver.

It's kind of a yes no, I mean there shouldn't be a set driving age, because I know myself at 15 now, I am mature enough to drive by far. I also know many of my friends are not, so I'd like to see a flexible age for this as many people deserve it, as well as many people don't

Of course there are for's and against's for this argument, and many of them

My personal opinion is that I will be upset if this happens, as I am 15 and looking forward to driving. However, it is a sensible choice as it will reduce a lot of road accidents and deaths

At the ages of 15-17 you are still making poor choices with your life. I was reading statistic not to long ago and I seen where about 60% of drivers that are between the ages of 15-18 get in some sort of wreck during those ages. I think driving is something that shouldn't be taken as a joke as most kids see it. I believe the age should be around 18 and people should have to take more of the driving part during drivers ed.
