I was wrong in my earlier post! What WeimannTheFiremann said is right! Video playback and recording is supported on all devices on Android 4.1 and higher! It says so in the "What's new" section on the Play Store! If you need a screen shot i can upload one I'm just too lazy just now!

Yeah, could you please provide a screen shot? Getting a new Android device, so can't go onto the Play Store, many thanks.
